GNSS Algorithms Team Lead

The Job

We are looking for a GNSS Positioning Algorithms Team Lead to guide and inspire a team of experienced algorithm engineers. As Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading the team in delivering innovative and robust GNSS Positioning Algorithms and their firmware implementation, ensuring alignment with company goals, and fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation. You will play a key role in shaping the team’s culture, ensuring productivity, and helping engineers grow in their careers.

 

Your mission

You mentor and motivate team members to achieve individual and team goals. Acting as a bridge between management and the team, you ensure alignment with company objectives. You foster a positive work environment, resolving conflicts and promoting teamwork. You take ownership of technical decision-making, architecture, and system design. You conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs.

In collaboration with your colleagues, you refine and implement GNSS Positioning algorithms in our next-generation GNSS firmware, running efficiently on our state-of-the-art embedded platform.

You work closely with peer Software Engineers and GNSS Algorithms Experts to ensure flexible, modular, and efficient high-quality software in C++.

You contribute to the definition, selection, and continuous improvement of GNSS positioning algorithm libraries. You take a proactive attitude towards bringing products to the market and focus on customer needs.

You are a key contributor to the development of Septentrio next generation GNSS firmware. The firmware computes centimeter level position, cm/s velocity and sub-degree orientation based on GNSS ranges coupled with additional sensors such as accelerometers, gyros, a magnetometer, and an odometer.

 

Your qualifications

As a leader:

You have proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

You can inspire, mentor, and develop team members.

 

As algorithm engineer:

You have at least 10 years’ experience in innovation in GNSS Positioning Algorithms.

You have experience in the leading the design of algorithm innovation in an industrial context.

You have significant experience with GNSS software design, regression testing and code reviews.

You are motivated towards documentation of both algorithm designs and their implementation.

You are familiar and proficient with concepts like linear algebra, matrix decomposition, Kalman filtering, statistical & numerical analysis, FDE and you understand the issue of numerical precision.

 

As a person:

You hold a master’s degree in Geomatics, Geodesy or equivalent; a PhD is considered a strong asset, offering valuable expertise in hypothesis-driven research, complex problem-solving and prototype trade-off.

You are proactive, structured, and have an analytical and problem-solving mindset.

You have good communication and interpersonal skills and are fluent in English (written and spoken)
