Accountant

The Job

As an Accountant, you take ownership of key accounting processes and play a crucial role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. You support the accounting/controlling team lead in driving high‑quality financial operations. In this role, you work closely with Hexagon, our parent company since 2025, and contribute to streamlined group reporting, including through the use of OneStream.

Your Mission

General Ledger & Core Accounting

• Take ownership of GL transactional work, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and corrections.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger in line with internal and external requirements.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
• Maintain proper documentation of all accounting transactions and controls.
• Support operational accounting activities, like posting invoices, bank statements, to ensure continuity and accuracy.

Closing Activities & Reporting

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities to ensure timely and accurate results.
• Prepare closing entries, conduct variance analysis, and support the finance business partner with clear financial insights.
• Ensure all data is aligned with group accounting guidelines and ready for consolidation in OneStream.
• Contribute to financial reporting packages for the accounting/controlling team lead and Hexagon.

Collaboration with Hexagon

• Work closely with Hexagon’s finance and reporting teams to ensure smooth alignment of accounting data.
• Support the integration of systems, processes, and reporting requirements introduced by Hexagon.
• Assist with group audits, corporate submissions, and changes to financial reporting frameworks.

OneStream (Reporting Tool)

• Prepare and validate financial data for submission into OneStream.
• Perform data quality checks and address mapping or validation issues in collaboration with Hexagon.
• Experience with OneStream or any other reporting tool is a plus; willingness to develop expertise is essential.

Team Support & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, or enhance accounting processes.
• Support the finance business partner and accounting/controlling team lead with accounting tasks, ad hoc analyses, projects, and system improvements.

Audit & Compliance

• Prepare documentation for external and internal audits.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and group policies.
• Assist with tax and compliance obligations (VAT, sales tax, etc.) as required.

Your Qualifications

Experience & Background

• Minimum 3, ideally 5 years of relevant accounting experience, within an international environment.
• Demonstrated experience in GL accounting, month‑end closings, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience working with consolidation or reporting tools is a plus.
• Proven ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders (e.g., Hexagon).
• Strong technical skills with SAP and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

Eligibility & Skills

• BSc in Accountancy.
• Solid knowledge of Belgian accounting principles (BE GAAP).
• Understanding of IFRS reporting requirements is desirable.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, and audit processes.
• Excellent communication skills in English, Dutch is a plus.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with strong ownership.
